Overview
We provide analytical services for LAS in environmental water and wastewater.
LAS is a type of surfactant widely used in household detergents and cleaning products. Based on toxicity studies and environmental monitoring data indicating potential impacts on aquatic organisms, LAS was added in 2013 to Japan's Environmental Quality Standards for the Conservation of the Living Environment under the Basic Environment Law as an environmental standard for the protection of aquatic life.
Our analysis targets LAS compounds with alkyl chain lengths of C10 to C14. The concentrations of each carbon-chain component are individually determined and reported as the total LAS concentration.

- Pretreatment and Analysis
Analyses are conducted in accordance with the Japanese Environmental Quality Standards for Water (Environmental Agency Notification No. 59 of 1971, Appendix 12).
