Overview
For diagnosis, we detect plant-parasitic nematodes present in soil. In addition to commonly used methods such as the Baermann funnel method and sieving method, we provide diagnosis using various approaches including metagenomic analysis.
For control tests, we conduct indoor tests using plant-parasitic nematodes cultured in-house, ranging from nematicidal activity evaluations to damage assessments using potted plants. We also conduct practical field trials using naturally infested fields.
Applications
Diagnosis is used when crop yields have gradually decreased in production fields over the years or when symptoms suspected to be caused by nematode damage appear. Analysis is conducted to determine whether harmful nematodes are present. Based on the detected nematode information, we then propose appropriate control methods. These services can also be used solely for analysis when evaluating the effectiveness of agricultural materials under development.
For control tests, we provide commissioned testing services for customers developing nematode control materials. Establishing and maintaining test systems for plant-parasitic nematodes requires specialized knowledge, trial and error, and ongoing operational costs, which can significantly affect development speed and profitability.
